Over the weekend we had good weather so we spent both afternoons at the beach. On Saturday, we went to a beach in Antibes that has smooth stones instead of sand. The kids really enjoyed throwing the stones into the water. It was neat to hear the stones clank together as waves came in. The pictures in this blog is from the stone beach. After spending time at the beach we went to a restaurant called Hippopotamus! Sean really enjoyed it since he Loves Hippos. The picture of Mark and I Sarah took for us. She did a great job with the camera! We were impressed!

On Sunday we went to a Castle Beach in Mandileu near Cannes. Another family who we have recently met showed us the beach. The kids enjoyed digging in the sand, finding sea glass and playing while the adults talked. It was a relaxing afternoon for all.

Nice, France

Since we had to take Mark's rental car to the Nice airport, we spent the afternoon at the Promenade d'anglais by the Sea. We played on the beach, which is a smooth stone beach. The kids had fun throwing the stones into the sea. We found a double decker carosel that the kids enjoyed riding on. Sean rode a girafe and Sarah rode a horse. There were many fountains that the kids enjoy seeing also. Since the weather was finally sunny and nice, we enjoyed spending the afternoon outside at the sea. It was a great day!

Marineland (Sea World)

Since we have moved to Biot, France we have taken the kids to Biot, Valbonne, Antibes, Mougin, and Grasse.

In Mougin, we found an artist that was having a 50 percent off sale, so we got a ladybug painting for Sarah and a small painting of Provence for ourselves. They were a great find condsidering artwork in Mougin is usually very expensive. It was neat to actaully talk to the artist!

Today January 1, 2011, we took the kids to Marineland (Sea World). We had a great time seeing the Sea lions shows (sea lions, &elephant sea lion) and Orca whale show. It was great to see the Sea Lions have a a mind of their own. Both groups of Sea lions performing had at least one that would sometimes do what the trainer wants and then do the trick they wanted to do. It was great to see personality.

The Orca whale show was Fabulous! They had 4 whales in the show. What beuatiful animals with speed and grace!

Marineland had serveral neat playgrounds in addtion to the attractions and shows, which the kids enjoyed. It helped to keep their attention with the attractions/shows with playground breaks!

We all had a great time!

Tomorrow we are headed to Cagnes Sur Mer, it is also called the city of painters. Its the honme to one of my favorite painters, Renoir in addtion to many others. See the articles below.
